AmesMUG: LANFEST Announcement

Tomorrow, Dec. 1, AmesMUG will host our traditional LAN party, as our  
final event of the semester.  As it has been in the past, LANFEST  
will be held in the Farm Bureau Pavillion (near Kildee Hall),  
starting at 7PM.  All paid members are welcome to attend, or you can  
pay your dues at the door.  We'll have pizza and pop delivered  
throughout the night.

What is LANFEST (or a LAN party)???
This is where a group of people bring their computers together to  
play games against each other, typically until late into the night.   
AmesMUG always holds LANFEST, our LAN party, on the last Friday  
before dead week.

What should I bring?
Your computer, games you want to play.  We'll provide the food,  
networking equipment and extension cables.  We'll also have a few  
pairs of headphones available.

Can I attend?
All paid members are welcome to attend for any length of time.  You  
can pay at the door as well.  Yearly dues are $10.

What games will be played?
All kinds of games.  In the past, we've played newer games like Doom  
3, as well as some classics such as Starcraft, Warcraft 3, Rise of  
Nations, etc.

Any console games?
If you would like to bring a next-gen console to LANFEST for people  
to play, please contact Brandon Newendorp (bnew at iastate.edu) and  
we'll try to get a projector & screen for it.
