Help Wanted: Student Support Tech to help Manage our Apple Computers. I am
looking for a good student who is interested in a summer job, working up to
40 hours, with continuing employment during the school year. I run a shop
that supports the College of Agriculture Administration. We support a
variety of computer users in the Administration group, and manage several
servers for the College. The job is an opportunity for you to learn about
general computer support and various aspects of server support. This is good
real world experience for someone looking at computer work as a career path.
 
Duties include helping to maintain the Apple Computers used by the various
groups supported by the College of Agriculture Computer Services. This
involves setting up new computers and fixing problems on the current
computers.   
 
Ideal candidates will be underclassmen with at least two years remaining and
interested in long term student employment. The ability to communicate well
with the people you are helping.
 
Student should be familiar with current and previous versions of Mac OS and
Apple Hardware. They should have a real interest in solving problems and
helping computer users. Knowledge of Windows OS and Linux are helpful. An
interest in learning more about various computer systems and how to support
them in a computer services environment is helpful.
 
Job available Summer 2007, but student can start as soon as they want to
this spring. Student can work up to 40 hours per week this summer, and 20
hours per week during the school year. Salary is $8.50 to $10.00 depending
on your experience and abilities. If you are planning on going to summer
school we can work around your class schedule.
