AmesMUG: Smart Playlist on iTunes for New Podcasts?

I ended up subscribing to a podcast to experiment with this, and that
does not work :(. It seems there may not be a skip count on
podcasts and it doesn't like to record last played or mark things as
played/not played in custom playlists. WTF. This seems like a
missing feature. If skip count isn't how many times you have skipped
the song before completion, then what is it?
