AmesMUG: How to clean a hard drive?

Hey, it's Deb here with the old Performa 6360 I want to take to  
Goodwill.

Shouldn't I clean the Hard drive first? I have the original CD's with  
the software.

It mentions in the book several things I might do, one of which is to  
initialize the Hard drive.

Should I initialize it at all, and if so, do I do this before re- 
installing the "software"?

All of this scares me a bit, but why should I care if I'm giving it  
away?

I wish I knew someone who would want this bundle of stuff, including  
a monitor, 11X14 scanner, zip drive, etc. It all works together as a  
unit and seems kinda too bad to just dump it, even though it's SCSI,  
old and slow.....

But seriously, what about re-installing, "cleaning", initializing???  
Any advice?
