AmesMUG: Word Closing

Alright so i have an illegal version of word that apparently a lot of  
people also have. So when i am on the internet and open word if  
someone else in that network also has that version of word it kicks  
me off. It is driving me nuts! Is there any way to make word not  
connect to the internet. Because a lot of the time i can only use it  
if i turn off my wireless.
