AmesMUG: Good Alternate 500GB-1TB Hard Drives

hey everybody,

im looking for a good 500GB - 1TB external Hard Drive for general
storage. Im planning on taking all the files on my 200GB LaCiE HD (
USB, FW400,FW800) and dumping them onto this new HD and turning the
200GB HD into a dedicated time machine backup hard drive since it's
slightly bigger than my 160 GB MacBook Pro HD. So I went looking for a
good 500GB-1TB hard drive and found one I really liked here (

they've been out of stock in that for a while now and I am beginning
to be impatient.

What are some good hard drive makers that you trust and use? I want at
a bare minimum a Firewire 400 connection because I always have
something plugged into both my USB ports and I find Firewire is much
faster for transferring files anyway, also having Firewire 800 and/or
USB 2 could be good.
