AmesMUG: Dead LaCiE Hard Drive?

I've never had anything like this happen so I don't quite know what's
going on here. Basically yesterday I had some files on my desktop that
I wanted to move to my LaCiE 500GB external hard drive. I plugged it
in and nothing happened... literally. No light on the hard drive box,
not a slight bit of vibration of the hard drive spinning, no hard
drive clicking, literally nothing like as if I connected the hard
drive to my MBP via FW800 without any power. Tried FW400 and nothing.
I turned on my other LaCiE 200GB dedicated time machine backup drive
and it worked fine without a hitch. Tried the same firewire cable I
just used for my time machine backup and same thing as before nothing.
I've heard hard drives clicking/failing, but this is the first
instance of a hard drive just not turning at all period. Anybody got
any advice? I left it unplugged overnight and plugged it back and and
still nothing. Besides switching cables I don't know what else to do.
